Course Overview

Arthromax introduces a series of short courses. These courses are practical and have a high impact. They aim to enhance the skills of orthotists and prosthetists working in independent labs or clinics. These courses are designed and led by Mr. Kamran Saleem Awan, an internationally recognized expert in prosthetics, orthotics and podiatry.

These workshops combine hands-on training with clinical guidance, ideal for professionals seeking to advance their technical and clinical competence.

Course Details

Fabrication of Thermoplastic AFO

  • Duration: 3 Days
  • Content: Anatomy review, casting, vacuum forming, trimming, padding, and fitting
  • Outcome: Independent fabrication of functional AFOs

Laminated AFO & KAFO Fabrication

  • Duration: 5 Days
  • Content: Lamination techniques using carbon fiber/resin, reinforcements, and finishing
  • Outcome: Strong foundational knowledge in advanced orthotic fabrication

Transtibial Prosthesis Fabrication

  • Duration: 4 Days
  • Content: Socket casting, modification, bench & dynamic alignment, modular assembly
  • Outcome: Delivering a well-aligned, functional BK prosthesis

Diabetic & Rheumatic Foot Orthotics

  • Duration: 3 Days
  • Content: Pressure mapping, insole design, EVA and PU techniques, total contact insoles
  • Outcome: Effective orthotic management for diabetic patients

Arthromax Diabetic Foot Orthotist Diploma

  • Duration: 6 Months
  • Content:
    • In-depth diabetic foot pathology and biomechanics
    • Offloading strategies and pressure relief principles
    • Casting and fabrication of total contact insoles and diabetic footwear
    • Management of Charcot foot and deformities
    • Clinical documentation, risk assessment, and patient education
    • Practical workshop sessions, patient fitting, and case studies
  • Outcome: Graduates will be equipped to assess, design, fabricate, and manage comprehensive diabetic foot orthotic care at clinical level, meeting international standards

Spinal Orthosis: LSO & TLSO

  • Duration: 4 Days
  • Content: Measurements, mold preparation, orthosis trimming, padding, application
  • Outcome: Safe and effective spinal bracing techniques

Transfemoral Prosthesis

  • Duration: 5 Days
  • Content: Casting, socket design, knee joint options, gait training, alignment
  • Outcome: Complete fabrication of a transfemoral prosthesis

Gait Analysis & Alignment Basics

  • Duration: 2 Days
  • Content: Observational gait analysis, alignment errors, adjustment tools
  • Outcome: Improved clinical judgement in prosthetic & orthotic fitting

Material Science for P&O

  • Duration: 2 Days
  • Content: Plastics, foams, resins, safety handling, material selection for device design
  • Outcome: Better understanding of materials and fabrication safety

Upper Limb Prosthetics

  • Duration: 4 Days
  • Content: Socket design, harness systems, terminal devices, myoelectric overview
  • Outcome: Competence in basic upper limb prosthetic devices

Business Management for Clinics

  • Duration: 2 Days
  • Content: Pricing, patient handling, documentation, ethical marketing, clinic setup
  • Outcome: Business acumen for sustainable P&O practice
